Historically, we’ve kept updates, comments and private messages to 140 characters. This was because an SMS is 160 characters long, your username takes upto 15 characters etc. But things have moved on fast since then; almost all handsets support “SMS concatenation” which means they can send and receive long SMS by stitching single messages together. It works pretty well.
Starting today, you can now send updates as much as 420 characters long! This gives you ample space for those thoughts when 140 just won’t do.
The other main reason we wanted to increase this limit was the answer to the question “what do you do if you have something longer to say?” In the online world, you write a blog post and you share the shortened link. But what about all those users who don’t have access to the Internet or a smartphone? Pring was designed from the ground-up to support SMS and it is important for us that every feature we launch works well over SMS. Short messages work well for sharing links, commenting and chatting; long messages are useful for conveying larger thoughts.

It is a very useful update in pring. I am thankful to pring team for this. But plz hourly updates limit must be increased, at least from web it must be 10 msgs. 2nd thing is permanently banned idz, these should be unblock now. Becoz there were also some idz like FunnyGirl that send very nice updates. We are really getting bored without them.
Hey there!! Well, its a great addition but when i tried to put up an update consisting of 300 plus words, it won’t go through to my Followers. Even it says that You have exceeded the per hour Update Limit, still nothing goes through.

i am totally disagree with nash who said that we break sms barrier…i think sms barrier is limit of 10msg/day. plz increase update limit as soon as possible..i think smsall social network is much better than pring.. we hate pring due to 10msg/day limit…

Hey there !! Im in with some Recent Bugs on Pring. One is when i want to send an update there comes this “Your request cannot be processed right now, please try later”, Via Web!. Another is when an update is gone through and when received it is kinda repeated, that is the words are repeated in the last and also sometimes some Words are missed inbetween. And then its been over 3 weeks that all the updates receive after an hour or two when sent, which is very annoying sometimes. Hope you guys will look into this and solve these things asap, and make the service better and faster! Thanks, NEWSFLASH
